My Steamboat 25th

Firstly, thanks for all your wishes via Friendster, Facebook, smses, and blog and dedication on the radio…and thanks for all your wishes in the previous post. As bengbeng said, I am indeed blessed to have each and everyone of yous…*Muuuaaahhhs!!!* 🙂

Now, to those who were not there at my grand (ceh) birthday bash this year…Feast your hearts (and maybe stomachs) out!!! LOL.

I initially wanted a Karaoke Birthday this year…but since I knew my friends well enough to know that Karaoke wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, I decided to throw a Steamboat Birthday (first time ever) instead. Being Malaysians, you know all we do is EAT…haha…

So I pre-booked a table for 12 at My House Steamboat which is located somewhere between Simpang Tiga and Pending. (NOTE: This is NOT MY house but the name of the Steamboat Restaurant…the name tends to confuse some. Heh.)

I told them to meet up there at 7.30pm but knowing the infamous Malaysian time, I knew it was really gonna be 8pm so I budgeted my travel time so…Turns out, 7 of them arrived quite punctually and had to wait a while for me and my escort cum driver for the night to arrive. Nevermind bah kan guys? I didn’t keep you waiting that long…haha…Besides, usually I’m the punctual one so thank you for waiting for ME this one time instead. 😉

But it really amused me that you guys were all waiting in your cars parked side by side and after I arrived immediately everyone got out for their cars and marched towards the Restaurant…haha…I bet the waiters/waitresses that were anxiously waiting for our expected arrival found it amusing too. LOL!!! 😀

So without much further delay, we were led to our table in a secluded part of the Restaurant away from the rest of the patrons there. Thumbs up to the management! We pretty much had the whole Restaurant to ourselves! Hehehe…

Here you can see some of the mystery meat balls we had…

They provided our table with 2 soup base – Chicken and Assam/Tom Yam

Our table of 12 (minus 1 ‘cos 1 last-minute couldn’t make it)…

Round table: Mel, Jess, Lola, Teddy…

Lola, what were you and Ted doing? 😉

(Bis is taking the picture), Iza, yours truly and Fred…

Iza and I were eavesdropping on the conversation to our left…

Fred (again), Jack, Pete and Fab…

They look kinda drunk don’t they? And there wasn’t a drop of alcohol that night…LOL!!!

We were pretty soon full already and just sat there talking and talking and talking…

Then Mel left…

Then Jess took off…

And only then Teddy asked: “What? No cake?”

And a cake magically appeared

Well, almost.

Actually, the cake was my bro’s surprise for me (Thanks Bro! 🙂 )

…It wasn’t in the plan so although I did bring it along, I left it in the car at first, unsure whether we would have it or not…and totally forgot about it…until Teddy asked…*Oops!*

So…sorry Melsorry Jess…You guys shouldn’t have taken off so early. LOL.

Look how they mutilated the cake?! They placed a straw smack in the middle of it because we didn’t have candles!!! ^_^””

Surrounded By Angels…I love this pic!!! 😀

It was getting late so we called it a night and left the Restaurant at 11pm…

And the first thing I did when I arrived home was…

Open presents…Teehee…

Thanks for all the gifts guys…*hugs*

But thanks especially for coming to the Steamboat…It was the least I could do to thank all of you for everything you’ve all done for me…my dear friends… 🙂

And thanks also to My Privilege Book for treating me to my own birthday… 🙂

And of course thanks to My House Steamboat for having us…I will definitely go there again…hehe…

So yeah…

I am now 25 and that means…

Warning: I am now officially licensed to kill. 😀

  2. Hey! U forgot to thank me for not going, otherwise u people not enough to eat. I love the steamboat at Coca and at that place along Nanas Road. Never been to this one! Next time, u bring me, ya? LOL!!

  4. cdason, for so many people, that’s VERY cheap!!! At Coca, I think it’s RM45++ per person…the last time I was there and that was quite some time ago. Oh…is that lola – owes hear her name on traxx???

  5. melbie,
Yeah…sorry no reviews on the food (bet that was what you were anticipating!!!) LOL!!!
Honestly, I was too busy “melayan” my guests that night I didn’t eat much (or even take any picture of the place for a review)…Hence why I wanna go there again – this time to REALLY eat… 😉
Actually, I’m thinking maybe we bloggers who will be in Kuching for the RWMF in July can go there for makan session…whaddaya guys think? 🙂

P.S. I drink sufficient water I think. That gift was from a Tupperware tauke…what else would you expect? LOL.

    cdason,
There are 2 other more “known” steamboat places in Kuching…Never been to either but I hear Hornbill is RM18 pax but not so much choice and the ambience so-so while Garden Steamboat Restaurant is more pricey at RM22pax and got service tax some more! So I think My House is “just nice” in terms of price, ambience, choice and service…
I also seldom go steamboating but I know I wanna go here again…maybe if we do have that blogger’s meet (refer to my reply to Melbie above) you can join us! The more the merrier…. 😀
Btw,suituapui also has an answer to your question…

    Loudshir,
Mood for celebrating? Aren’t I always? LOL!!!
The pics were only the few I can display of that night…the rest are for my eyes and his only. 😉

    STP,
Thank YOU for NOT coming?! No such thing!!! It’s eat-all-you-can so you coming would have had very little effect on the rest of us. LOL!!!
Where is Coca? Never heard of it…and the Nanas road one you’re referring to is Garden Steamboat Restaurant I think. The ambience is nice but more pricey…
Bring you to My House? 😉 Can…come up for the RWMF! Hehehe…

    lola,
That tip only me and him know…ni tau madah… 😉

    Really? Guess ur meeting tergendala leh…cos I wasn’t pranked…LOL!!!

You want? I sms you on how you can get it…hehehe…

    Dye lighter?! Nevermindlah…gradually lor…haha…

Baaaa…you can have them rumputs…Next time, if your cake, just get you the rumput enuff lor. Hehehe…

    So, where’s my present from you? I’m waiting….. 😉

    STP,
    Yes, that’s her.
    STP, meet Lola.
Lola, meet that retired teacher who’s now the Principal on traxx in the afternoon…*ducks* 😉

    Again, where is Coca?

    Loudshir,
I also dunno who that “bismarck”. I call him a different name…if you know who he is, don’t ask him what his tip ‘cos that’s between me and him only. Jangan mau menyibuk. 😉

  6. STP,
    Oooo…That’s Coca…
Dunno whether still got or not. Maybe got but past its glory days? I did come across it when doing research for the place to have my big day but it’s not as femes as the three I mentioned. Results and reviews for those keep popping up…

    teruterubozu,
